| | Soulive - Solid | ] | Oh shit son, update BANG BANG It's starting time again. Someone's telling ME that, about my wife, sorry sir, but I'm going to break your leg.
So, tomorrow I head down to Boston, crash at my buddy J-SO'S place (holla, girl) and head to Logan in the morning to catch my flight to Europe. Holy shit. Europe.
I really didn't know what to think at first. I almost didn't buy my ticket and was going to rent an RV and drive down to Bonnaroo instead. I really considered it, and I'm sure that would've been a goddamn blast too, but Europe must happen. This is pretty much a once in a life time chance. World Cup in Germany? Last time the World Cup was in Germany, TWO Germany teams played. Ya. Also, beer. Good, German BEER. Although, I was fucking pissed when I heard that the official beer of the Cup was going to be fucking Budweiser. Goddammit. What the shit is that all about. I thought at least one big organization had some integrity left, but Bud's probably paying the big bucks for it. Good, fuckers. Everybody's boykotting your shitty excuse for a KING OF BEERS. Goddammit, sometimes America really pisses me off.
Anywho, I felt a bit apprehensive at first, to say the least. The other day, my buddy over there told me that I wouldn't be able to stay at his place anymore, and I was like, that's cool, except kind of not, but oh well. I was feelin kinda down after that, but I hooked myself up with another place to stay and now I'm actually really fucking PUMPED for this trip. Yes. It's going to be goddamn amazing.
Also, I just realized that I'm flying into Amsterdam...I should PROBABLY spend some quality time there before I take the train to Hannover...MIGHT just have to. Jesus Christ, what am I getting myself into.
Some dankness, that's fo' sho'.
When I was chillin in South Station the other day, I heard these two white collar kinda guys talking about their sons. One of them was like, "Man, my kid's friend is pretty cool. He's kinda rebellious, you know, going against the grain and stuff. Doing his own thing. That's the kind of kid I wish I was, you know? I never took any risks or anything like that, you know."
Hell yea. Bring it on.
Let's find out what this is all about.
"As he saw his life run away from him, Thousands ran along, Chanting words from a song; Please me have no regrets. Please me have no regrets. Straight from the baby's mouth. We follow the lines going South!" |

| | Phish - You Enjoy Myself | ] | 4/27/06 - Trey & Mike to tour; Phish to return In an interview on an Atlanta radio station today, Trey (likely in Atlanta for studio work with a producer he's teamed up with before) confirmed rumos that he, Mike, and the Benevento/Russo duo will tour together this summer. Though tickets and billing will likely portray some hierarchy among the bill's acts, rumors (based on previous things Mike and Trey have said) describe the tour as some sort of interactive meld, with each of the 3 doing their own stuff, as well as some interaction among them.
Trey also mentioned that he "hopes to get Phish back together in a few years", dispelling rumors of an October 2006 reunion but confirming common suspicions that this "breakup" is really a second hiatus.

Today's Phish lyrics go out to my dear Katrina.
And on the market stands unfolding With all their willies and their wares I shuffle by alert but numb To all the glances and the glares And I think of you unheeding All the times I raise my cup It's now I know that you knew that I'd soon end up end up
I wheeled around because I Didn't hear what you had said And saw you dancing with Elihu Up on Leemor's bed And I was foggy rather groggy, you helped me to my car The binding belt enclosing me, a Sample in a Jar

| | Eins, Zwo - Danke, Gut. | ] | I think it's safe to say that when Rob, Rossi, Chris and I go places, we will change some people's lives. This weekend in Boston was absolutely ludicrous.
Beth and Liz went down Friday and stayed with Jamie. I would've gone too, but I have a fricking Saturday morning class. KILL ME. Everytime that class is about to end, I feel like I'm back in middle school waiting for fucking summer vacation. It's REAL bad.
Anyway, around 3, Chris and I leave in his Wrangler and Rossi, Rob and Tim Dubois from Boston head in Rossi's Subaru. We spend most of the ride down pondering how we could possibly pass a bowl between two speeding vehicles on the interstate.
We arrive at Tim's pad around 6, meet and greet and make plans. We need to meet up with all of those people somewhere for dinner. We don't know where, or how to get there, but we're going, goddammit. Although it was too bad Tim didn't come with us, because that kid is one funny motherfucker. Goddamn. We stock up on beer, pregame, pocket beers, and get ready for a crazy night. Oh and before we left, I got to see Jenny, MAH GIRL FROM HOME Y'ALL, REPRESENT, J-SO.
The first thing that happens on the streets in Boston is Rossi gets in front of a car that's trying to pull out of a parking space. Rossi's natural response is to shake his cane (his leg's still kinda fucked) at the car and cuss him out, which prompts the driver to bring his car to a complete stop, stick his arm out and proudly give Rossi the finger. It must've been one of the finest moments of that man's life.
On the T, I noticed that I REALLY have to pee. Like, REALLY. It's bad. Real bad. I REALLY cannot hold it any longer, and Rob notices that he REALLY has to go too, so we actually decide to GET OUT 2 stops before our destination and find a place to go. It was so ridiculous, I felt like smoking a cigarette after. While we're waiting for the next T, we drink beer.
Dinner is awesome. Josh and Suzy and Jamie are there, all people I haven't seen in ages and it is awesome. I order a steak and tell them to leave the cow alive. Since Rossi and Josh are 21 and they're having drinks with their food, Rob, Chris and I decide to go to the bathroom and drink as well. I'll admit, we were a little shady. No, wait. We're awesome.
THEN, we head to the actual party.
Which is just pure madness. Debauchery. We are out of control. There's really not much else I can say. When the sun comes up, we turn in. The matress I slept on was FUCKING BAD. I've never slept so bad in my entire life. I've slept on FLOORS better than that damn thing. After about an hour of that, I get up to go to the bathroom real quick and see four people on one matress in the living room, two people on a futon, somebody passed out on a pile of random clothes in the other room and chris, who slammed the door on my face just before we went to bed, in a locked room. You crazy kids.
The place is absolutely trashed, so we decide to do the gentleman thing and get the fuck out. On the way back, we're simply recapping and the people around us are either laughing or completely terrified. The old lady next to me was trying so hard not to laugh balls. Somehow we make it back to Tim's place and chill for the afternoon. We watch Spawn, and I am convinced that it really is the worst movie EVER MADE. I'm shitting my pants. But we also watched the most ridiculous episode Curb Your Enthusiasm (Kamikaze Bingo), and I KNOW that it is the BEST show EVER MADE.
We head out around 5 and walk around Boston for a little bit, trying to be as loud as humanly possible. We had a sort of "game" going on where we tried to tag the most ridiculous shit onto the end of each sentence and see how many eyebrows we could raise. I don't think I've laughed so hard in a very very long time. I'm sure we gave the random people that saw us on the streets a lot to think about today.
Now we're back, and I'm beat. I almost feel like taking a weekend off BUT OH WAIT I'M SEEING TREY AT BATES NEXT WEEKEND HOLY SHIT, I'm gonna flip.
Be there or be square, son. |

| | Jazz Mandolin Project - At The Pershing | ] | Well, this weekend started off interestingly enough...tomorrow, Dustin, Chris and I are off to Boston, where we're meeting up with Beth, Liz, Jamie, Suzanne and JOSH WILCOX THE SEXUAL BERSERKER!!! Ah yes, fond memories...wait, that sounds weird.
Anyway, last night, I partied with Dustin for the first time in ages, and it was good. He brought a bottle of Jack, which prompted a trip down nostalgia lane...great memories of Pat, Dustin and Miller side by side puking in the toilets. Oh you crazy Thursdays before breaks...will you ever learn? Pat still owes me a rug too, dammit.
So we're drinking, and there's a lot of madness everywhere, and Kevin and I make sweet love, I mean music, and after a while Beth and I decide to go out for a walk.
The crack shack is closed early for some reason, so we head down to the soccer fields to go chill. Its not too chilly, the stars are out, tres romantique, yadda yadda.
After about 10 minutes, we see a cop car pull up. Like, really. He drove across the fucking soccer field and stopped no more than 3 feet away from us with his spotlight in our faces.
This should be fun.
He gets out, asks us how we're doing, but he really doesn't give a shit, and he kind of looks and talks like Bob Marley, the comedian, and then he starts being a dick.
Cop: "You know you guys aren't supposed to be out here" George: "Oh really?" Beth: "But there aren't any signs..." Cop: "......so how much have you guys had to drink tonight?" George: "Nothing sir, we haven't been drinking." Cop: "Really, because I smell alcohol." George: "Well, that's strange." Cop: "Breath into my hand."
I breath into his super high tech breathalyzer and blow a YOU'RE A FUCKING IDIOT.
Cop: "Lemme have your IDs"
He vanishes into his car for about 17 hours. Why do they always take so goddamn long with your IDs? Meanwhile, there IS an unopened beer can chilling behind me near the trash can. I sure hope he doesn't see...aw, horseshit.
Cop: "What's this?" George: "Oh, I dunno sir, it's not mine." Cop: "Oh yeah?" Beth: "Honestly, we just got here, and we did see some other people walking back from the woods."
Nice.
Cop: "I'm going to ask you again, how much have you had to drink tonight?" George: "Honestly, nothing, sir. We just came out here to chill. That's all." Cop: "Really, I find that hard to believe." George: "Uhh, well I don't know what else to tell you."
We look at each other for a solid minute. It got a little awkward. Then he blew me.
Just kidding. He gave us our IDs and we left. What a dumbass. But I wonder what that spells for this weekend? Madness, I'm sure. The good kind.
See you in Boston, George |

[Oct. 30th, 2005|09:14 pm] |
| [ | Current Music |
| | Jazz Mandolin Project - Nozanina | ] | You might've noticed my last post, about us returning to the woods, once again. Usually, we only return to the woods when we're on the run from the authorities. Well, that's not too far from the truth...
On Thursday night, after some intense pregaming and cut throat games of Egyptian Ratscrew, our group makes our way towards something they used to call "The Dankness", over at Phillipi. Of course I'm referring to room 320, the suite that belongs to none other than Rob The Legend, Rossi The Rossi, and Alex The Turdburgler. The suite where there have been raging ragers for the entire semester. Indeed, it is "The Dankness."
So we get there, and it's already raging. We immediately begin playing a rousing game of Kings and all hell breaks loose. We are drunk, we are loud, we are loving life.
Quiet hours begin at 9 on Thursday nights.
"Knock, knock."
What happens from this point on is a little fuzzy. I know that Alex opened the door and let the RAs in. When they want everybody to come out of Alex's room, Rossi pulls a quick one and says "Alright, you three, you have to come out." There were about eight of us. Chris and AJ sacrifice themselves for the greater good. Well, at least for my good. If I get one more strike, I'm outta here.
...which brings me to Rob and Rossi.
They're in the same predicament. Unfortunately, they live there, so there's no hiding. They might be fucked.
Anyway, after this whole deal is over, we decide that there is only ONE possible solution to this madness: Fire party in the woods.
Our course is set. I run back to Robie and grab some guitars and booze and we're off. We make our way through the woods, start a fire and we're singing, playing guitar, drinking and forgetting about tomorrow. It is Heroic.
Friday, Halloween festivities begin. We're invited to a party and our friend Magna's place in Portland. Mousse and I are the Blues Brothers, Beth is a sexy kitty, Liz is a sexy Evil Cupid and AJ is a Boyscout (No, he really is). At the apartment, there is warm, home made food, hard cider, beer and cards. Then we got ridiculously blitzed with a K-5 art teacher and played the most ridiculous card game I'd ever played.
You held a card up to your head so everyone could see it and you had to guess, judging from everybody else's card, if you had the highest card or not. After a while we had about eight people playing this ridiculous and nonsensical game. I was in tears. Needless to say, it was one of the best times I ever had.
SATURDAY, we decided not to go to a rager in Portland (wtf?) and have a "quiet" night in. We have a couple drinks, make a trip to the woods, get really ridiculous, come back, play cards and hang out.
I don't know what time it was, but at one point, Beth and I were just chilling when all of a sudden we hear a knock at the door.
As soon as I turn the handle, the door flies open and Kate falls into me, laughing hysterically. After saying things that couldn't possibly be in English she demands to go to Mousse's room. On the way down the hall, Lauren appears, who is just as hammered as Kate. We both think this might be the funniest thing ever and I drop Kate and run to Mousse's room, while Lauren runs in the opposite direction. After a couple of minutes, I remember I left Kate in the hall, so I open the door, only to find her sitting right in front of it with David, my RA, standing over her.
David: "Kate...you need to chill out."
Oh, college...you and your wild, drunken antics. WILL YOU EVER LEARN?
I hope not.
Next weekend: Josh's 21st Birthday in Boston! SNAP!
Until then, George |

It was all quiet before the power went out too, but as soon as it did, everybody started raging. On Monday. Does that mean when the power decides to go out in the WHOLE WORLD, everyone will go savage on each other and raid stores and eat people and shit?
So basically it's like college all over again? I think I can deal with that.
PROFOUND POST. Sort of. |

| | Jazz Mandolin Project - Borkum Riff | ] | I saw Jazz Mandolin Project open for Rusted Root on Friday, and while Rusted Root was awesome, JMP blew my goddamn mind. I can't stop talking about them. They are ridiculously awesome.
Mike came up Friday, which was awesome. He convinced me to go to the show, so we drove into P-Town around 5:30 so I could get tickets (he had already bought his). While we were waiting for the box office to open, we overheard a couple saying that they had an extra ticket. SNAG. For free, you say? Yes, please. Free ticket to see Rusted Root. Score.
We went in extra early and made our way up to the WAY front, in a little area I didn't even know exsisted. We were practically leaning on the stage, no less that 3 feet away from the band. Then JMP came out and it was an hour long eargasm. Holy SHIT.
Anyway.
We got back, partied some and hit the sack, because I had to get up for a friggin Italian Midterm on Saturday. I think I dozed off for a couple of minutes while I was taking it, because 10 minutes of my time just didn't happen.
After I got back, Chris, Mousse and I headed down to Albany to party and to see Zox for free. Once there, I met up with Nick (!) and we headed to a nasty costume party.
Sick nasty.
We drank. Lots. Nick brought his Everclear, which really should have "Bad News" written on the label. That shit is 190 proof. It WILL fuck you up. We made sure we drank plenty.
As I was scanning the kitchen, I noticed a bunch of bottles on the shelves. Then I noticed an Absinth bottle. Then I noticed it actually had a little bit of Absinth in it. Then I drank it.
I felt swell.
As the evening progressed, cell phones would be lost, random things would be stolen and drinks were finished. Also, Chris got sick and puked all over their stairs. Then he went outside and puked on the stairs there. NO STAIRCASE WAS SAFE. Then Nick puked in the sink, maintaining his reputation of, well, getting sick a lot. And then some girls made out and the night was complete.
Nick made his way to his car to go sleep and we did the same. Thank God for Mousse's van, that thing is the shit. Unfortunately, we nearly froze to death the next morning. Chris and I convinced Mousse to start the car and crank the heat and drive around. We drove around Albany for about 3 hours while I slept in the back seat. I don't know why, but it was very bizarre.
Then we went to see Zox, but it got cancelled, so we drove home. yay.
Next weekend, I'll be on campus for halloween. 11/4 I'll be in Boston for Josh Wilcox's 21st birthday. Come find me. The weekend after that I'll be at Bates, watching TREY, HOLY SHIT! Get in touch if you want the USM party train to come to YOUR school!
Until then George |

So I wake up yesterday morning/afternoon, and I go to take a shower, because I'm a little dirtier than usual. Once inside the shower, I noticed a tiny black speck on my stomach. I try to brush it away, but it won't come off and upon closer inspection, I realize that this little black speck is moving. Like, moving. Legs and shit.
What the FUCK.
I go back, and show it to Chris, and everybody else, because it IS kinda cool, but I'd rather have that thing get the fuck out of me, so chris heats up some nail clippers so we can burn the fucker out, but he accidentally kills it and just rips it out instead and I hope I don't get lime disease. Sweet.
George: Hey look dude, it's a tick. Jeff: Wow, that's fucked up. Did you get that from wrestling in the woods last night? George: Umm....Uh, yeeah... Jeff: You guys were wrestling last night, right? George: I don't know, was I? (laughter)
PRETTY sweet.
And afterr a trip to the woods last night, we discovered a bunch of soccer balls on the soccer field, which prompted us to play an impromtu game of moonlight soccer, which was PROBABLY one of the best things ever.
Weekend = Success
As soon as I talk to more people, I'll find out about other things that I did. haha.
